Mike Doble has over 40 years of leadership and communications experience. He began his career as an Army officer with multiple command and staff assignments. He spent his final six years of military service at the Pentagon. For three years he was spokesman for the Strategic Defense Initiative and then became public affairs advisor to the Vice Chief, and then Chief of Staff of the Army, the two top four-star officers in the Army.

Following his Army retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996, he counseled a broad portfolio of corporate and government clients at Fleishman-Hillard, including service in the Executive Office of the President of the United States, where he was the agency onsite coordinator for the Office of National Drug Control Policy’s National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. His clients also included a chemical company, a food processing company, a railroad and an auto manufacturer. He was also a media trainer and a member of the fly-away crisis team for the Washington, DC, office.

He also directed communications for a category leading Dotcom startup, taught at George Mason University, co-authored a chapter in a strategic communication textbook, and for 18 years held multiple senior leadership development and communications roles in a Fortune 200 company.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine and a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University. He is Accredited in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America and is certified as a Functional Continuity Professional by Disaster Recovery Institute International.  He is also a certified Six Sigma Specialist.

Mike’s novel “On the Hot Seat”, published in July 2020, is a satirical view of the how-to and how-not-to of public relations.
